Comprehensive Overview

  • Note: Scope software and our diagnostic skill set is always being updated. The following outline is a number of examples of what will be covered. The focus is how to get the best out of your ATS Scope and the latest version of Multichannel software.
  • What is actually the difference between Offset and Differential measurements? How can you seriously damage the vehicle and/or the scope if you are not sure.
  • What is the background of the 'safe ground' function of the scope.
  • How to create a filtered and subdued 'DeltaN' pattern for excellent analyses.
  • How to setup, manipulate and use the Crank angle I/O. We will deal with several real life examples.
  • What is the function of 'asymmetrical' in otherwise impossible to diagnose crank angle patterns.
  • We deal with a real trouble case (misfiring Diesel) where all skills need to be used.
  • Data logging and cropping for capturing at high speed intermittent failures.
  • RMS tracing, for analysing position sensors on EV and Hybrid traction motors.

Data logging and cropping skills are really helpful when trying to capture high speed faults over an extended period of time.
To post super large files is troublesome so the ability to crop sections of the recording is necessary. We will be practicing with real signals.

The setting up of the scope before differentiate is applied is vital. We will explain in simple and logical terms how the smallest of detail can make a huge difference in your analyses.
