Prerequisites: It is prefered that you have completed AED, no matter what level of experience or previous training systems.
3-Stage Pressure Switch & Analogue Pressure Sensor
Electronic signals and diagnostics. Soft switch levels in the software and how to manipulate the signals for diagnostic purposes.
High/low-Pressure Protection
We’ll look at diagnostics on the high and low-pressure switch and pressure sensor circuits and their function in old fashioned and late model top of the line AC vehicle systems
Condenser Fan Control
Fan control (by the ECU and direct), the reasoning, diagnostics and system description. Dual speed single fan, dual fan control, duty cycle controlled fan and how to test and override sensor signals for fan system diagnostics.
Computer Process Control
How non-Aircon system faults can still prevent the aircon from working.
Expansion Valves and IHX
Construction and diagnostics on various expansion valves and IHX systems.
Leak Search Methods
We explain how to safely service & maintain an AC vehicle system and how to diagnose using UV dye, sniffer and Nitrogen. This includes various practical ways to find leaks in an aircon system.
Purity & Stop Leak
Hands-on gas purity analysis and stop-leak detection. Why this is more vital than ever. What are the real dangers posed by A/C “Top-ups”.
Maintenance
Even the simplest steps of maintenance are skipped in the field causing expensive repairs.
Do you want to be the skilled automotive repairer or the person that caused the customer’s vehicle to be reduced in value?
Oil Removal & Flushing
Procedures, hints and tips to remove oil and contaminants from the system after, for example, compressor failure. How to add oil to new and used systems (hands on).
Recharge Procedures
A major section is the practical evacuating, vacuum hold and recharging of real automotive AC systems. You will come away with knowledge on how to properly use recycle/recharge equipment, directly applicable in your workshop, no matter what brand or type of equipment you have.
Receiver Dryers & Accumulators
Construction and diagnostics on different receiver dryers and accumulators.
Condenser
Construction and various stages of condensing the refrigerant in the (super-cooling) condenser.
Practical
We will run a system with various charge levels and simulate faults, for you to discover and note what effects each fault has.
