AIRCON SYSTEMS

The aim of this Air-conditioning training is to help you get maximum results in the workshop without the need to invest in expensive Air-conditioning equipment, while still maintaining safe practices. There is no need to have any prior knowledge of air conditioning system diagnostics.

aecs training - aircon systems
QUICK FACTS

COURSE ID: ECAC1-1
DURATION: 2 DAYS

Prerequisites: It is prefered that you have completed AED, no matter what level of experience or previous training systems.

Quick Overview

Comprehensive Overview

High/low-Pressure Protection
We’ll look at diagnostics on the high and low-pressure switch and pressure sensor circuits and their function in the AC vehicle system, plus the system’s pressure relief valve.

Condenser Fan Control
Fan control (by the ECU and direct), the reasoning, diagnostics and system description. Dual speed single fan, dual fan control, duty cycle controlled fan and how to test and override sensor signals for fan system diagnostics.

3-Stage Pressure Switch & Sensor
Electronic construction, signals and diagnostics. Soft switch levels in the software and how to override the signals for diagnostic purposes.

Computer Process Control
How non-Aircon system faults can still prevent the aircon from working.

Expansion Valves
Construction and diagnostics on various expansion valves.

Leak Search Methods
We show you how to safely service & maintain an AC vehicle system and how to diagnose using UV dye, sniffer and Nitrogen.  This includes various practical ways to find leaks in an aircon system.

Purity & Stop Leak
Hands-on gas purity analysis and stop-leak detection. Why this is more vital than ever. What are the real dangers posed by A/C “Top-ups”.

Oil Removal & Flushing
Procedures, hints and tips to remove oil and contaminants from the system after, for example, compressor failure. How to add oil to new and used systems.

Recharge Procedures
A major section is the practical evacuating, vacuum hold and recharging of real automotive AC systems. You will come away with knowledge on how to properly use recycle/recharge equipment.

Receiver Dryers & Accumulators
Construction and diagnostics on different receiver dryers and accumulators.

Supercooling Condenser
Construction and various stages of condensing the refrigerant in the supercooling condenser.
