Quick Overview

  • Communication between scantool and the ECU, how this is achieved and why you may get communication errors. We’ll look at common solutions to minimise disruption.
  • We’ll cover long and short fuel trims; including fuel trim data, and the link between oxygen sensor behaviour and trim values. This information can be the most valuable data and we’ll show you how easy it is to use this for comprehensive diagnostics.
  • We go in-dept with understanding fault codes (OEM vs OBD). How codes are set in the ECU and what are ‘parameters’. We look at sensor and actuator fault code settings, as well as indirect fault code setting procedures.
  • Refresh rates of various protocols and different scantools; We’ll simplify the scantool recording process as often the reported fault won’t occur if not recorded correctly.
  • Basic ECU coding such as coding injectors, ECU updating, reflash and pass thru.
  • In this seminar, we invite you to bring your own scantool as you will be using your scantool throughout the two days. We will discuss common faults and day to day cases that you’d encounter in your workshop.
