Quick Overview

Comprehensive Overview

Communication
We discuss the basics such as how a smart key communicates with a vehicle and to quickly diagnose a smart key fault, including the keyless entry system with its aerials, detecting and removal of the key from a running car.

We go more in-depth and discuss the response of the engine ECU when one of the 7 control units expires. We teach you how to find the expired unit with a scan tool and scope diagnostics.

The Seven
We look at how each of the 7 anti-theft units communicates with each other and how to diagnose CAN data bus, serial and radiofrequency communication problems. There is so much to learn from the signals, understanding what you are looking for makes an immense difference in diagnosing time.

We’ll show you how some vehicles now use rolling ID codes between individual control units and how to view them.  Because of this, we’ll share why you can’t simply replace the expired unit in the vehicle.

Practical
AECS training seminars are practical and as a part of this training, we will walk you through several practical problems that you will have to solve from simple coding of a remote to a non-start and a non-unlock situation.

We will discuss charging out for diagnosing and quoting for repairs. At the completion of the training, you will receive working and pricing methods (outlined from the practical).
